Programs

The Department of Linguistics and Language Development at San Jos矇 State University is an innovative center for teaching and research in the areas of language, computational linguistics, and language pedagogy. The Department manages several separate but complementary programs.

Linguistics

Linguistics, in which we offer a B.A., a minor, and a certificate in computational linguistics.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

(Suspended.) Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), in which we offer the M.A. degree and both graduate and undergraduate TESOL certificates.

BS Computer Science and Linguistics

This is a bachelor of science in this exciting new field.

MS Computational Linguistics

This master's degree launched in spring 2025.
